Mission

Queer Collective is a Toronto based non-profit organization committed to creating accurate & positive representation for every subgroup of the LGBTQ2S+ Community with an emphasis on uplifting local queer artists.

Representation

LGBTQ2S+ youth and young adults only see themselves in 6.4% of prime time television characters. Out of this small amount of representation, many are seen to be problematic, hyper-sexualized, and stereotypical.

In response, we have created Queer Collective, a cyber safe space to share our REAL stories. Through our digital content we spotlight queer leaders, makers, experts & artists to create the visibility that our community deserves!

Uplifting local queer artists

We are dedicated to fostering the Canadian arts sector because we believe art is a vehicle for social change.

Under our “artists supporting artists” model we leverage our platform & expertise in video production, design & audio engineering to document queer art & connect artists with our audience. Our programming (OUT LOUD, The Vizzybility Project & Artists for Social Change) focuses on education & funding, to support the professional development of Canadian queer artists.
